Barney's Version

OK I was supposed to be writing in English from the beginning. For some reason it didn't make sense before but now after our first trip to the movies it is time. For starters before talking about the movie I highly recommend the Mordecai Richler novel Barney's Version.

The book is one of those you never want to end, it has great witty humor and even though he can be a bit of a mess you really do end up loving Barney as politically incorrect as it might be.
It is hard to watch a movie after reading the novel it was inspired by but this film remains relatively faithful to its literary side. Non the less it does fall in some Hollywoodesque problems, but non that can not be overlooked. Dustin Hofman's role as Barney's dad is a fabulous surprise and Paul Giamatti did definitely bring Barney to the big screen with no contradictions of what I had in my head. http://www.barneysversionthemovie.com/#/home
